Simpson Crazy redesigns!

Simpson Crazy has been given a facelist Notice anything different? It's been a long time coming, but finally we can today unveil a new-look Simpson Crazy!

The most noticable change is of course the new design, but there are bigger changes behind the scenes. I actually made the first version of this design about three years ago and have been slowly working on organising and reformatting content. We're using clean (and mostly valid) code across the site and the structure allows for quick and easy layouts for new pages, which should be coming faster. Practically every page has been redesigned in some way.

Previously we had about four different places for navigation links, which was a bit of overkill! The menu has now been consolidated into a simple list on the left of each page.

One of the other big changes is the news system, which I have rewritten from scratch. You'll see Simpsons show and product news on the left, with site updates and occasional web news in this right panel. Click any news item to see the full story; you can try it right now to see a bigger list of our site changes...

By the way, we hope to have comments working again very soon, but in the meantime we'd really appreciate any and all feedback. You can contact us using the email link towards the top right of the page. Alternatively, there is a thread at the No Homers Club forum (the most popular Simpsons forum on the net). So what else has changed? Here are the biggest changes...

The lists page has been redesigned. Sidebars on the right provide a few new, short lists. The lists themselves were updated before Season 20 but will be getting further updates.

The episode guide pages have been cleaned up. We hope to bring back member submissions in the near future, but you can email suggestions to us and we'll add them.

A new opening credits page has been added, mostly geared towards the new HD credits, but info for the classic opening sequence will be added. The song lyrics page has been redesigned with some of the latest songs added to the list.

The miscellaneous image gallery is now the "extended gallery". Pixel art has been moved from here to its own page.

On the fun part of the site, the jigsaws have been recreated from scratch and are much easier to use. I've decided I don't have time to run the Secret Sound contest any more, however, all the old clips are available if you want to play again! There's a good chance I'll add new clips from time to time.

We have lots of plans for the future so watch this space!
