the other categories. Check out the production sketches, adverts, Simpsons
pixel art, mug shots and other interesting images & photos.
This year in the UK, television channel BBC lost the rights to show The
Simpsons to Channel Four. As the premiere of the show on Channel Four drew
closer, they showed these "break bumpers". Made up of the Channel
Four logo, these mosaic images were shown just before advert breaks. (Thanks
to Gary for some of the images
here.)

This stuff is really cool. The Halloween series of Simpsons Comics (Bart
Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Comics) features comic strips in many different
artwork styles. Below are just a few samples of this and other artwork from
Simpsons Comics, I think you'll agree they look neat!
Xt'Tapalatakettle's Day:
Similar to regular drawings, however the characters are given a
slightly menacing look. (THOH #5)
Apu On Rigel 7:
Strip uses thick black lines and dark charcoal-like coloring. (THOH #5)
MetamorphSimpsons:
Homer has had a nightmare and wakes up...to find its not over. Nice
shading on this one. (THOH #6)
From Duffs Till Dawn:
Vector-style chunky shapes, outlines are mostly a light brown instead
of black. Picture shows Groundskeeper Willy who is telling the story. (THOH
#6)
In Springfield No-One
Can Hear You Scream:
Bart running away from some creatures. Artwork is similar to Apu On
Rigel 7. Total black shading. (THOH #7)
Homererectus:
Looks like a "real-life" comic, with Homer adding a splash
of color to the otherwise dreary red-gray background. (THOH #7)
Destroy All
Simpsons:
Back cover from THOH comics #7.
Tales From The
Kwik-E-Mart:
A very nice bright, pastelly comic strip. Picture shows the Simpsons
at the dinner table. (THOH #8)
The Power Plant Of Pain:
Dark and creepy colours make this evil story come to life. (THOH
#8)
The Cask Of Amontilla-D'oh!:
Some cool 3D-like shading in this story about Moe's revenge on
Homer... (THOH #9)
Radioactive Man
poster:
From Radioactive Man comics #679.
The Simpsons have been used in many advertising campaigns to help companies
sell their products. Furthermore, Simpsons comics and other publications often
include funny adverts for made-up products, featuring Simpsons characters.
Check out all these below:
| "Pixel art" is the name given to pictures which
are drawn pixel-by-pixel. They do not use any line-smoothing techniques
and as such, can be reduced to very few colours (typically 16). These
types of pictures are common to old console video games (such as Game
Boy) which have very few display pixels and limited colours - yet the
images look so realistic. I have collected a whole bunch of Simpsons
pixel art from all over the net for your viewing pleasure. |

Production Art sketches are designs for characters or scenery, drawn by
producers and animators to aid with the animation. Below are a few of these.
Located in the state of Nevada, this life size
replica of the Simpson home was built to mark the show's tenth anniversary.
Cool, huh? Here are some photos of the house and the original floor plans by
which the house was built.

In 1996 The Simpsons did a special two-part episode, Who Shot Mr. Burns? Over
the summer Fox ran a competition for people to guess the identity of the
assailant. The following images are promotional mugshots created for this and
other promotions. Most of the regular characters are here - with the exception
of Marge since she was not a suspect.

possible future.
