The police are on the case to find who shot Burns. After DNA testing and a positive ID, Homer is charged for the shooting. However, before he can be jailed, he escapes. It's a race to hospital to find out who shot him.

When Homer and Marge are found to be unfit parents, the kids are put into the care of the Flanders'.

After a trip to a local petting zoo, Lisa becomes a vegetarian, much to Homer's disgust.

Attack of the 50 ft Eyesores: Giant billboard characters come to life. Nightmare On Evergreen Terrace: Groundskeeper Willy returns from the grave, terrorizing Springfield's children in their dreams. HOMER³: Homer discovers a passage to a 3D world behind the bookcase.

Homer gains a lot of weight so he can claim disability and work from home. However, Marge does not like the new Homer.

After faking his death, Homer discovers his mother is actually alive, but with a very shady past and the FBI are eager to find her.

Sideshow Bob slips away from prison duties, steals an atomic bomb and threatens to detonate it unless the town of Springfield gives up television.

After Bart is caught shoplifting at the Try N' Save, he is let go as long as he does not set foot back in the store. Unfortunately, the family return to have their Christmas photo taken.

Smithers takes a much needed vacation and, to ensure his position is safe, hires Homer as his replacement.

Bart unwittingly bankrupts Itchy & Scratchy Studios when he proves that Roger Meyers stole the idea for Itchy from Chester J. Lampwick in 1928.

Troy McClure's sagging film career is given a boost when he is seen in public with Selma Bouvier. Soon, Troy asks her to marry him, but confesses to Homer it's just for the publicity.

After obtaining a fake driving license, Bart hires a car and takes Milhouse, Nelson, and Martin on a road trip. Meanwhile, Lisa spends time with Homer at the power plant.

Bart and Milhouse wonder if anything interesting ever happens in Springfield. Roll on a series of shorts featuring Springfield residents. While Lisa gets gum in her hair, Snake and Wiggum are caught in a Pulp Fiction-style situation.

A call for lower taxes prompts Mayor Quimby to campaign against illegal immigrants. However, when the Simpsons learn that Apu is among those to be deported, they help him gain citizenship.
